Why I teach Combat Focus Shooting...
Combat Focus Shooting was a clear choice for me. Having studied tactics and human behavior during critical incidents for several years, CFS not only made sense but also was the missing link for total readiness.
If there was a way I could go back to my early days of training and begin with the Combat Focus Shooting concepts, I cannot imagine where my training would be at this stage of my life. Having had the opportunity to teach and to train several law enforcement and military personnel over the past 20 years, in some ways I feel I have done a disservice to them not having the Combat Focus Shooting mindset at that time. The time and energy that could have been saved trying to fit a student or operator into perceived objective was often unattainable. But with CFS concepts, those students would not only have risen to a factual and attainable goal, but it would have spread to all other training disciplines for Firearms, Defensive Tactics, and Fitness.
Now whenever I approach training, if Combat Focus Shooting concepts and human behavior or what I have called “Human Tactics”, is not an integral part of training, then it is more than likely a waste of time.
