My Bio

After serving the in Military Police and attending college in the mid 80s, I transitioned from occasional recreational shooting to getting more and more involved with firearms. By 2007 my interest in firearms started to become a passion for learning and training. Current NRA Instructor Certifications are: Home Firearms Safety, Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle, Personal Protection in the Home and NRA Range Safety Officer. Recreationally shooting with USPSA and Range Safety Officer for matches. I have taught permit to carry classes to over 600 students in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Combat Focus Shooting Instructor Development course 2009. Active instructor for Combat Focus Shooting and Advanced Pistol Handling. I am working on certification for Carbine CFS.

Why I teach Combat Focus Shooting...

Being a long time NRA supporter and current Patron Life Member a received a lot of articles and watched a lot of training DVDs. One of the DVDs I received through the NRA was the Personal Firearms Defense DVD series, my first exposure to Combat Focus Shooting. Permit to carry classes are inherently not all about shooting. I wanted to learn more and offer more to students about shooting. All too often that means traveling hundreds if not thousands of miles and spending thousands of dollars and not really having much to show for in the context of defensive shooting. Many of the “Top training schools” curriculums just offer what I was looking for.  The answer was Combat Focus Shooting. An extremely intuitive shooting method that was accessible at a developmental skill set for every level of shooter. The professional integrity of the program, the efficient and consistent progression of the instruction model is world class.
