Why I teach Combat Focus Shooting...

Even before I experienced Combat Focus Shooting, one of my favorite training maxims was Jigoro Kano's concept of "Maximum efficiency, Minimum Effort." So, when I discovered Combat Focus shooting, I immediately recognized how well its principles would integrate with my other training.

As an instructor, it’s important to me that I believe in not only the material that I’m teaching, but also its underlying premise.  Combat Focus Shooting does a better job than any other defensive system I know of laying out that premise.

The intuitive nature of Combat Focus Shooting and the way it's articulated, also mean that it's straightforward to teach and learn. Students can easily develop the tools to defend themselves without spending hundreds of hours on esoteric minutia.  It's very rewarding to watch students who are initially nervous to even handle a firearm, leave at the end of the day with the ability and confidence to defend themselves should the need arise.

As a Combat Focus Shooting instructor, I am often given the chance to be a shooter's first impression of the defensive shooting community.  I teach CFS because I want people's experience to be the same that my first CFS was for me--a significant milestone in my training career and personal development.
