Kurt Owen has been training civilians, military and law enforcement for more than 10 years. He has worked in and around executive protection for more than 15 years. Kurt is widely sought in the executive protection industry both as an instructor and a consultant. In addition to extensive firearms training, Kurt is an Israeli trained Krav Maga instructor with Krav Maga Global under Eyal Yanilov and is certified as a bodyguard and instructor under Israel’s IKMF. He is a consultant to some of the most prominent ministries and is considered an expert in church and ministry security. He has traveled to 26 nations and is a founding partner in Alpha Omega Combatives in south Florida. He is known for his basic common sense approach, emphasizing intelligence and tactics over brawn and firepower, and being able to take a complete novice to a place of readiness very quickly.

My name is Kurt Owen and I have been shooting since I was 15.  I have trained in combat style/emphasized shooting since I was 20; since then I have trained with many instructors with a variety of techniques.

I heard of Rob Pincus and Combat Focus Shooting (CFS) from a civilian contractor friend. Rob happened to be in Florida about that time and we scheduled a two-day training. 

Though I was impressed by Rob’s knowledge and his teaching technique, what impressed me the most was the CFS program itself. I immediately recognized the value of the balanced approach to combat shooting.

I liked the fact that CFS could always answer the “why”s: Why do you do this, why do you do that. The fact that CFS is based on scientific principles rather than individual ability or preference was also crucial to me.

I became overwhelmingly convinced that anyone could learn CFS and benefit from it. Whether someone is a Navy SEAL or a single mom who has never fired a weapon, CFS will give you or improve the skills necessary to protect you and your loved ones’ in a life threatening situation.

That’s why I became a CFS Instructor, because whether you are civilian, military or law enforcement, CFS will make you safer more quickly than any other system I have seen to date. I teach it because I regard it as the best and I strive to give people the best training available.
