Matt Munson is the owner of Champions Athletics in Tomball, TX.  He runs CrossFit Champions and Champions Self Defense as well as Champions Tactical.  Matt is a Certified Combat Focus Shooting Instructor, a Certified Level II CrossFit Instructor, as well as a self-defense instructor in Blauer Tactical's Personal Defense Readiness and various systems within the American Combat Arts Federation.

Unlike many firearms instructors, I don't have a lifetime of official firearms training, nor do I have an incredibly long list of firearms instructor certifications.  I grew up around firearms (in a responsible manner) and only recently pursued an opportunity to become an instructor.

I have been involved in martial arts and self defense, as well as fitness, for most of my life.  Earlier this year, through my training with Blauer Tactical, I received an opportunity to attend a Combat Focus Shooting Instructor Development course with program founder Rob Pincus of I.C.E. Training.  What primarily drew me to the CFS program was its orientation to using a firearm for self defense, not sport. The Combat Focus® Shooting Course is not designed to make you the best shooter you can be on the range, rather its goal is to help you quickly develop fundamental skills that you can apply in a worst case scenario defensive shooting situation.
